Nawty Dawg ~ Takin’ a bite outta rock-n-roll!

Scotty

Scotty LaChance has been playing guitar since the third grade, and performing since he was in grade school. He has been involved in numerous musical projects, including the Midwest group, Reign (in the 1980s) and, just prior to joining Nawty Dawg, as a guitarist for the Florida-based group, Wicked Garden Gnomes. When not riffing on guitar, he spends time with his family, records original music, and geeks out on the development of systems and software solutions.

Chip

Chip has played bass/vocals in several Cleveland area bands since picking up the bass, including Atomic Bachs, Yearbook, and a Cream tribute band. Since moving to Southwest Ohio he feels fortunate to be able to make good music with great people in Nawty Dawg!

Barb

The “singing geologist,” Barb McGavern is the lead vocalist for Nawty Dawg. Though she played clarinet from childhood through college, Barb didn’t start singing until she left home (Ohio) and began working in Memphis, where she was invited to a garage band practice by co-workers. Since then, Barb has been singing with bands and has developed a powerful vocal style. From Memphis, Tennessee, to Casper, Wyoming, and now Ohio and Nawty Dawg, Barb notes, “the guys behind me have always had my back. When on stage, nakedly pouring out your soul to a crowd, that combination of group camaraderie, energy, and trust is a deeply beautiful thing.” Above all, Barb stresses that the band must be a cohesive unit, that “music is born of an equal contribution between all band members, none of us is more important than another, and each one of us must rise to the skills of our fellow bandmates.” In her spare time, Barb loves quality time with her daughter, family, and her Sheltie (Pip). She secretly geeks out on geology, web design/digital marketing, and is currently launching an entrepreneurial venture focused on women’s empowerment, spirituality, health and science education.

Michael

Michael is a man of many talents. Drumming is a passion that he works to refine continually and diligently. You might say like Animal (from the Muppets) on the sticks. In his career life, Michael is an entrepreneur and coaches individuals and businesses in leadership training. This leads Michael to travel the world, through which he's gathered several amazing stories, friendships, and life lessons. It even led him to play in a Japanese rock band for a time!
